Father's Day Invitational
In the final tournament of the summer, the Villages High School team came out strong. Competing in the High School A Division - BLUE Group, the boys went 2-1 and finished in third place. This put them in the championship bracket. In the first game in the bracket, the boys faced the second place team from the GREEN Group, the Dorados. It was a tight game throughout with VLC pulling out the 6-5 victory. This put them in a rematch against the top seed Barely Legal team from the BLUE Group. In pool play, Barely Legal beat VLC 8-5. In the rematch, the first half was back and forth with Barely Legal taking a 3-2 lead. In the second half, it was more Barely Legal who pulled out the 7-3 victory.
There were a lot of great work throughout the weekend and throughout the course of the summer. After a little break, the boys will get back to it during the fall.
